sire, dam, birth date, birth weight, birth ease and more.
Keep detailed notes about each animal
in your operation: Store a digital picture of the animal.

that have happened to the animal throughout its lifetime.
Provide standard information such as registration number and
trait information.
Government ID Tracking: Multiple
ID tags such as plastic tags, metal tags, tattoo and the new
proposed government registration id. New government regulations
have been levied requiring ranchers to place government issued
IDs in their animals and track transactions involving animals.
Ranch Manager comes with an easy- to-use interface, allowing
you to conform to the new industry standards. Country of origin
is also recorded.
ID Manifests: With Ranch Manager
you can print out ID Manifests, which you can use at sales
to identify your animals, or while you are out in the field
looking up animals. The ID Manifest report includes information
such as animal ID, birth date of animal, current tracking
number, plastic tag and metal tag.
Multiple Views of your Herd:
With Ranch Manager viewing your herd could never be easier.
Your herd is separated out into major categories such as offspring,
Dams, Sires, Animal Sales, and Unmanaged Animals. Each view
gives you the opportunity to view the animals in a list with
various characteristics displayed, or you can use the pedigree
and offspring views to discover an animal’s family tree,
or drill into the set of offspring the animal is responsible
for (including grandchildren, and beyond). Search for an animal
or specific set of animals based on IDs and/or characteristics.
Pedigree editor: Track and record
unlimited generations. Print and View 3 generations at a time,
or use the expanded pedigree tree, to view the animal's entire
pedigree.
Event Tracking: Any event that
can happen to an animal you can track. Specific events supported
include: animal sale, animal treatment (vaccinations, etc),
artificial insemination/breeding, birth, and death. A custom
event is also available for you to enter any custom event
information. Events automatically show up in the Rancher’s
Calendar so you can easily keep a history of your operation.
Enter a single event that affects multiple animals with an
intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
Gestation history: Track an
animal’s gestation history. Ranch Manager will even
generate reminders on the Rancher’s Calendar as to when
an animal is estimated to give birth when a breeding record
is provided.
Breeding Planner: Ranch Manager
will help you avoid placing dams with incompatible sires.
The breeding planner allows you to find out which sires will
cause inbreeding with dams in your herd. You can print the
report so you can take it with you when you are doing spring
planning.
Inbreeding Detection: With inbreeding
detection Ranch Manager will warn you when a sire crossed
with a dam will result in an inbred animal, and at what generational
level the inbreeding took place. View the pedigree graphically,
with potential problems marked out.
Breed Records: Enter detailed
information about each breed of animal involved in your operation
such as name, weaning period, yearling period, gestation period,
and membership ID for breed associations. Keep detailed notes
about each breed in your operation. Monitor breed performance
by allowing you to view averages on price per pound, sale
weight, and total sales and compare them side-by-side to the
other breeds in your operation, or view this information historically.
This information can be filtered by animal age, gender and
ownership.
Rancher’s Calendar: The
Rancher’s Calendar is designed to keep you organized
and informed as to what is going on in your operation. The
calendar provides an invaluable historical catalog of what
has transpired on your operation. View your calendar by month,
or drill down to a specific day. Add entries to your calendar
with an easy-to-use interface. Hover the mouse over visual
cues and receive detailed information without drilling down.
Rancher’s Journal: In
conjunction with the calendar, keep a journal of your day-to-day
activities on the ranch. This free-form area allows you to
be expressive and organized.
Sales Tracking and Reporting:
Track animals that you are planning to sell and get detailed
reports based on sale activity. Reporting information is collected
historically and allows you to view information based on average
price per pound, or total sales. The information can be filtered
by animal age, gender, and ownership. Print reports such as
Animal details, Breeding Plan, ID manifest, current table
screen, graphs (Total Sales by breed) and more.
Intelligent Use of Hover Text:
Ranch Manager saves time by giving you the information you
need faster. Throughout Ranch Manager, simply hover your mouse
over certain items on the screen and Ranch Manager will provide
a summary pop-up about the item you are hovering over. This
saves you clicks and time.
Context Sensitive Help: Getting
help has never been easier. Ranch Manager’s help system
is embedded directly into the software. If you need to know
