Pocket Edition Users: If you have the pocket edition you must synchronize any changes you have made on your handheld device back into the desktop software prior to installing any updates (Use the Import Data from PDA action from the File menu). Once you have the desktop software update installed, you must also install the Pocket Edition update (see below). Once both updates have been installed, you should export your data back to your handheld device (Use the Export Data to PDA action from the File menu).

Version 2 Upgrade Instructions

• Save and close Ranch Manager if it is still open on your computer.
• Click on the link provided below. This will start the download of the Ranch Manager Update. The download is a full software installer and is larger than the normal update download. If you need a replacement CD mailed, please contact us and we can send you one a replacement CD for $15.
• Click on the Link for the edition of Ranch Manager you are upgrading: Cattle Edition | Sheep Edition | Goat Edition | Equine Edition | Wildlife Edition | Canine Edition | Livestock Edition
• Depending on which operating system and browser you are using you may be asked a series of security related questions. Follow the instructions, but you will need to either save the file to your hard drive and then run it, or simply run it straight from the web.
• Once you have run the file, the Ranch Manager installer will begin.
• Click on the button labeled "Next".
• Read the license agreement and click the button labeled "Yes" to accept the terms and conditions.
• Enter your name and company name in the fields provided and click on the button labeled "Next" to continue.
• Select the directory where you want to install Ranch Manager. You need to install it in the same location you previously had the software installed. If you installed in the Default location, just click "Next".
• The installer will now install Ranch Manager on your computer.
• When it is finished click on the button labeled "Finish" to complete the installation.
• Next you will be ready to launch and register Ranch Manager.
• To launch Ranch Manager, double click on the desktop icon labeled "Ranch Manager" or use the start menu and navigate to "Start->Ranch Manager->Ranch Manager".
• Ranch Manager should reload your original data. If it does not, you have not installed the software in the same location as your previous installation. If you need assistance, please contact us.
• To access the manual, please go to the Start menu on your computer, and select "All Programs", then "RanchManager" and click on the "Getting Started Guide".
